Healthy Eating Choices

Healthy Eating Choices is just one of the many important aspects of keeping yourself healthy both physically and mentally. I feel that choosing foods from Canada’s Food Guide and avoiding junk food is really important when you are hungry and want to eat. Choosing foods which are high in fat or sugar can affect the way your body works and the way you mind works. This is why it is important to choose foods from the four food groups which include grain products, vegetables and fruits, milk and alternatives and meat and alternatives as a guide for healthy living. For example, this morning I chose whole grain cereal with skim milk, whole wheat bread along with yogurt and orange juice. For lunch, I had a ham and lettuce sandwich on whole wheat bread, an apple and a cold glass of skim milk. Later, I enjoyed some baked fish with steamed vegetables, a side of rice and a glass of water for dinner. As you will notice, you can find these items on Canada’s Food Guide.
